Impact Projects
Connect For Animals is a non-profit platform for people who want to help end factory farming. I believe Connect For Animals has the power to help us connect the movement and end factory farming faster.
This was a space for me to publish articles about the movement for animals. All of these articles have been transferred to this site.
Media
“AI Animal Communication Breakthroughs Could Revolutionize Our Relationship With Animals” — Sentient Media
Artificial intelligence has the potential to change much about humanity’s interactions with nonhuman animals. I wanted to write a piece about the advancements in AI-enabled communication with other species, and I was very honored to publish this piece in partnership with Sentient Media.
“Most animal activists give up. Here’s how to avoid that.” — We The Free
In most difficult endeavors, people give up—and this is true about animal rights activism (and veganism) as well. But when it comes to animal advocacy, we need people here for the long-term. The cause is too important. I wanted to write this piece in partnership with We The Free in order to give pro-animal folks some inspiration—and tools!—for avoiding burnout and staying active for the long run.

December 2014
Goal
The book description describes it well: “I had a dream last night about a book that was written by a friend and passed from person to person around me. I was curious, I was jealous, I was excited, but I did not read the book. When I awoke, I decided to write it. What follows is the inspiration from that dream, a vivid hallucination-inspired fury of words detailing various aspects of existence and nonexistence as seen through the mental lens of a twenty-something-year-old. And, just as in the dream, this fury will be called GOD DEATH START.”
Highlights
I wrote the book in just a few weeks, devoting all of my free time to it, and experienced a great sense of flow during the process.
Data and Coding Projects
I mostly code in Python (and SQL), and my specialties are data engineering, data science, and data analysis (although I’ve also dabbled in web dev). For all of my coding projects, see my GitHub page.
I started and ran a data science group in Boulder for several years. The group is under new leadership and still going strong!
Music
2012 – 2013
Goal
I recorded this album in an apartment in Athens, Georgia, and then traveled the country for months selling it and playing gigs. (Including many a mishap, and a constant lack of money.)
Highlights
It’s hard to be unhappy while playing music – this is something that I rediscover from time to time in my currently-non-musical life. My friends and family were a hugely supportive of me living a vagabondish life, and random strangers saved the day as well. One time, my van broke down on Staten Island when I was totally broke. I ended up asking a family in a fast food restaurant about the ferry to Manhattan so I could get a cheap hostel, and they ended up just letting me stay with them for the night. Still thankful for that.
2010 – 2012
Goal
To positively impact people’s lives through music, and to craft unforgettable performance experiences.
Highlights
The experience of working closely with an incredibly talented musician and film-maker, Zach Booher, was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of thing. Over the course of two years we built a strong local following, released a full-length album, and played countless shows.
